Greetings weary internet traveler. Thank you for stopping by and checking out my little corner of the web. I am a Louisiana-bred saxophonist, composer, and producer with an incredibly unique look and playing style. As I was born with albinism, my white hair and general appearance are very striking on stage, creating an image both recognizable and unforgettable. Add to that my wild, passionate, soulful, and completely original sound, along with a very visual and quite appropriate nickname, "the Snowman" – and the resulting product is larger than life.
The heart of my music is based in passion and groove. It has been said that listeners can truly hear my soul when I play. Build upon that by incorporating some Louisiana funk tradition, a little gospel, a little rock, just enough jazz to not be overly serious, and finally pop song-writing sensibility; and you have a unique, original, and decidedly memorable sound. Throwing just enough background vocals into the mix to get the point across yet not overtake the music is an essential element as well. We have found it difficult to define which genre of music this sound fits into since it is a fusion of so many styles. However, recently a national radio promoter found the perfect description. RHYTHM AND PRAISE!
After growing up in Louisiana I came to Minneapolis by way of a brief eight-year stop in New York City. Performing and navigating the rough waters of the NYC music and recording scenes really helped tune my skills and led to some fantastic performing opportunities. A few of my favorites have been touring the nation and performing with The Samples, Spin Doctors, the Grammy nominated Excelsior Gospel Choir, Minneapolis Gospel Sound, Junior Mance, Arnie Larwence, Antigone Rising, Pat McGee Band, Swampadelica, Deep Banana Blackout, Billy Steele, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Hootie and the Blowfish, New Primitives, The Wild Magnolias, Dr. Mambo's Combo, Lola and the Red Hots, Reggie Workman, and so many others.
Now in Minneapolis, I have heard the call of a new career in studio engineering and production. Although this latest adventure has been amazing and my client list includes artists such as multi-platinum selling artist and Grammy winner Juanes, multi-Grammy nominee Oleta Adams, MTV Productions, Universal Music Group and many others; playing and writing my own material remains the first and foremost focus of my career. MGS Records released my debut CD entitled "From My Soul To Yours", and we are always working on new material.
By the way, although most southerners and Minnesotans hate the cold, I love it! It is awesome to be heat- and humidity-free. Not to mention that the lack of an excessive and rather terrifyingly large-sized insect population, which is a defining characteristic of Louisiana, is very nice. God bless you all. May today be the best day of your life!
